A flower’s appeal is in its contradictions — so delicate in form yet strong in fragrance, so small in size yet big in beauty, so short in life yet long on effect.

About me and my seasonal journey…

A woman with blonde hair styled in a bun arranging a large mixed flower bouquet on a wooden table.

Hello. My name is Brigitte.
I was born in South Africa and come from a big family of seven! Me being the youngest.
I spent most of my childhood growing up by the seaside and enjoying the outdoor life from morning until night just having fun. I've always loved being surrounded by nature and exploring new places. I think living in South Africa, this has always stuck with me which I have carried through into my adult years.

I moved to the UK in early 2000 and then had to transition to a whole different way of living from being a few minutes walking distance from the beach to now living in the rural parts of the Midlands in the UK. It took me a very long time to adapt to my surroundings and to settle in to my now new life. I still can’t get used to the weather here but it is has made me appreciate the seasons. Especially Autumn. It has to be my absolute favourite from the low light in the afternoon to the changing of the colours in the trees. Nature takes on a whole different outfit and it speaks to my soul. I seem to come alive during late September and October.

I bought my first ever camera a decade ago which changed my life for the better!
I took photo's of absolutely everything and soon discovered that I steered more towards nature and flowers. I even delved into the wonderful world of macro.
I self taught myself, guided by my passion, instinct , determination and lots of practice.
Today, I am recognized more for my floral fine art and my dutch master style that I portray within my photography. I often get asked if my work is a 'painting' or a photo. Which to me is the best compliment that I could ever hope for as I have always been so captivated by the dramatic play of light and shadow in art, particularly in the works of the Dutch Masters.

When I create with flowers, arranging each stem, thinking about the colours and textures, this is when I feel lost in a different world. I see each detail in the delicate petals, the way the light gently rests on each flower in a different way to the next.
The way I arrange my displays is all dependent on what I am feeling at the time. I use flowers as a way to fully express myself, like a self portrait.

Photography is more than just capturing an image, it gives you the chance to slow down, reflect, breathe. It's a reminder to cherish the delicate beauty of the world. It is the art of capturing beauty in the mundane. It’s an expression of the soul.

Each photograph is a piece of my heart, a testament to my passion for finding beauty in all its forms. Whether it’s the timeless elegance of a still life, the intricate details of a flower.
I try to tell stories, evoke emotions and hope that it takes your breath away like it did for me creating it.

One of the main reasons why I have started this website is because I want to share my art with you. My passions and my stories through my imagery.
I lost my Dad in June 2025 which has been an incredibly hard reality to face. I lost many years of not being in contact with him from my teenage years through to my early 20’s and that is one of my biggest regrets in life. We rekindled our relationship over the last 15 years and it was extremely meaningful. We made up for lost time right up until the very end when he lost his battle to vascular dementia. My whole perspective on life has changed since that day and I do not want to have anymore regrets in my life. He wouldn’t want that and he would want me to do all the things that bring me joy which is why I am here. Sharing my little piece of happiness with you, whether you’re here to browse or here to choose a piece of art. Either way, I am so thankful that you have visited my website.

My husband, Autumn and Canada

An introduction

This was a little collaboration that I worked on with my husband many years ago. An insight into who I am and my passion in photography. My style has evolved since doing this video but it’s a good way of looking back and seeing where it all started and where I am now.
